Abbreviations are exceptions to segmentation rules. memoQ doesn't break segments after an abbreviation. In this window, you can add a new abbreviation.

If you use your own segmentation rules: make sure they include the default abbreviation lists (#abbr#, #abbr_num#). If the default abbreviation lists aren't there, you cannot use this command.

How to get here

Open a document for translation. Select an abbreviation in the source text. On the Edit ribbon, click Add Abbreviation.
