When you registered at Language Terminal, you can create translation memories and term bases in Language Terminal, then you can share these resources with other users, and also use them in memoQ itself.

Important: You can create up to 4 TMs (two pairs, each in a specific language pair and its reverse), and 2 multilingual TBs with up to 5 languages. Each resource can be shared with one other person with write access, and two more with read-only access. The size of TMs and TBs is limited to 50k entries.

Open your Language Terminal profile. Then go to the Resources tab. Here you find the Translation memories, Term bases and Light resources tabs:

Creating a TM in Language Terminal

1.Click the Translation memories tab.

2.Click the Create new translation memory link.

3. Choose a source and target language for your translation memory. If your target language is your mother tongue, check the The target language is my native language check box.

4. Click the Add link to add the language pair to your profile. If the language pair is already saved in your profile, a Language pair drop-down list is visible to choose the language pair from.

5. If you wish to also create a reverse TM (e.g. you create an English-German TM, then the reverse TM would be German-English), check the Create second TM with reverse language pair check box.

6. Click OK to create the TM. The created TMs are listed in the My translation memories section:

7. In the Actions column, you can share, export to TMX, import as TMX and delete the TM. Use the Import as TMX icon to import TM content into your empty TM.

8. Click the first icon in the Actions column to share a TM with another user.

9. Indicate the permission for the TM: Lookup (the user can only lookup TM entries) or Update (the user can also add TM entries to your TM in addition to Lookup). Search for the user with whom you want to share the TM with. Enter the user name, the e-mail address or the full name, then click the Search icon next to the User field. When the user was found, he is listed below.

10. Click OK to share the TM with the selected user. If you no longer want to share the TM, click the first icon in the Actions column to stop sharing.

11. If an user invites you to share a TM, the invitation is shown below your translation memories. You can accept, reject or dismiss. When you accept the sharing, this TM is then listed as shared TM.

12. Use Language Terminal TMs in your memoQ desktop application. Choose Language Terminal in the Server URL box of the Translation Memories ribbon tab. Assign an LT TM the same way as a memoQ TM. Language Terminal TMs are indicated with an LT icon (). When you confirm segments to your LT TM, they are immediately visible in the Size (TUs) column in Language Terminal.

Creating a TB in Language Terminal

1. Click the Term bases tab.

2. Click the Create new term base link.

3. Choose a term base name, and the TB languages. Choose one language, then click Add to choose another language. You can choose up to 5 languages.

4. Click OK to create the term base. Your LT term bases are listed under My term bases:

5. Use the Actions column to share, import as CSV, export as CSV or delete a term base. LT TB sharing works the same way as for LT TM sharing.

6. Use Language Terminal TBs in your memoQ desktop application. Choose Language Terminal in the Server URL box of the Term Bases ribbon tab. Assign an LT TB the same way as a memoQ TB. Language Terminal TBs are indicated with an LT icon (). When you confirm segments to your LT TB, they are immediately visible in the Size (entries) column in Language Terminal.

Note: You can only select Language Terminal from the Server URL box if you are registered at Language Terminal. Otherwise, this item is not visible.

Note: From within memoQ, you cannot clone, delete, import from TMX/CSV, export to TMX, repair, and synchronize offline for TMs. From within memoQ, you cannot clone, delete, import or export terminology, synchronize offline for TBs.

Note: If you publish your local project to a memoQ server, LT-based TMs and TBs are dropped.

Important: Language Terminal resources cannot be managed from the Resource Console.

Important: Language Terminal resources are not available in project templates.
